Our commitment
PikMeGo is a way of getting somewhere. A transport service that is hard to use excludes people from more than a website does, so accessibility is treated here as part of whether the product works, not as a compliance exercise.
This statement covers this website. It also describes, separately and honestly, where the mobile apps stand.
The standard we build to
This website is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as its working target.
We do not claim conformance. A conformance claim requires a formal audit, and one has not yet been carried out. What follows is what has actually been done and what has actually been checked — which is more useful than a badge.
A formal audit has not been commissioned yet, and no date is set. When one happens, this statement will be updated with what it found — including anything it found that we have not fixed.
What this site does
- Semantic HTML. Headings, lists, navigation and landmarks are real elements, so the page has a structure assistive technology can move through rather than a wall of styled containers.
- A skip link to the main content, as the first thing a keyboard reaches.
- Keyboard operation throughout. Every control — including the mobile menu and the FAQ answers — works without a mouse, and the menu closes on Escape and returns focus to the button that opened it.
- Visible focus. A clear outline on whatever has keyboard focus, on light and dark backgrounds alike.
- Colour contrast. Text is set against its background at a ratio meeting WCAG AA, and colour is never the only way something is indicated.
- Touch targets of at least 44 pixels on interactive controls.
- Text that scales. Layouts are built in relative units and reflow rather than break when text is enlarged or the page is zoomed.
- Reduced motion respected. Scroll animations and transitions are switched off for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
- Alternatives for non-text content. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology; meaningful ones — such as the app illustrations — carry a description.
- Forms with real labels, native validation messages, and a status message that is announced rather than only shown.
- It works without JavaScript. Every page renders and every link works with scripting disabled. Only the contact form's send step and the scroll animations need it, and the form tells you so.
- Legal documents are readable. A contents list, linkable sections, a comfortable line length and a print stylesheet.
Known limitations
Stated plainly, because a statement that lists only successes is not much of a statement:
- No formal audit has been performed, and no testing with people who use assistive technology daily has been commissioned yet. Both are planned.
- Screen-reader testing has not been carried out across the full range of reader and browser combinations.
- The contact form's send step requires JavaScript. Where it is unavailable, the page shows the support email address directly instead.
- Third-party content — an app store page reached from a download badge — is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
The mobile apps
The PikMeGo and PikMeGo Dost apps are built with the platform accessibility features of iOS and Android, including support for the system text size, screen readers and reduced-motion settings. Controls are sized to the minimum touch target each platform recommends.
The apps have not been through a formal accessibility audit either. If something in an app is unusable for you, please tell us — app reports are prioritised over website ones, because the app is where the service actually is.
Reporting a barrier
If any part of this website or either app prevents you from doing something, tell us. A specific report — what you were trying to do, on what page or screen, with what device and assistive technology — is far more actionable than a general one, but send us whatever you have rather than nothing.
- Email: support@pikmego.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line
- Contact form: the contact page
We aim to respond within 24 hours, and we will tell you what we can fix and when — including when the answer is that we cannot fix it quickly.
If you cannot use the app
Booking currently requires the mobile app; there is no web booking. If the app is not usable for you, contact support at support@pikmego.com and we will do what we can to help, including discussing alternative arrangements where they are available in your city.
Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, a complaint can be escalated to our grievance officer — the route is on the contact page. You may also have a right to raise the matter with the accessibility or consumer authority with jurisdiction over you under India.
